Helen’s Homestay
Location: Irkutsk,Yubileyny sleeping area of Irkutsk (near the damb), 10 min drive by car from the airport / 20 min drive from the railway station/ 30 min from downtown.
Description:
Helen and her other two members of the family have been hosting travelers at their home place for 3 years now. We let out one bedroom of our 3-room apartment , (accommodates max 2 people at a time), breakfast included and pick you up for free. Focused on hospitality and customer all-through support our place has proved to be an ideal option for individual travelers who take a long journey by the Trans-Siberian.
Upon arrival you will be welcomed by the family’s root member - Mummy Nadya who cooks, washes and cleans and is an angel spirit of the place. After a tiring trip a warm family atmosphere, hot shower and unlimited teas is something you will probably need most. Helen has prepared for you an easy-to-use guide with directions to the major sights, handy notes and tips how to make the most of your stay and a map of Irkutsk in English. You are always welcome to share a Siberian dinner with us and join in the evening activities.
Helen speaks fluent English and provides an all-spectrum assistance you may require during your stay:
- getting info on train schedules,
- checking out tickets availability,
- contacting local services/companies
- buying tickets
- helping with visa registration
- arranging transfers

Location: Listvyanka village, a picturesque Krestovka valley, 150 m from the shore-line
Description:
A clean and tidy Siberian household which comprises three wooden houses and is safely fenced and secured. One may cook on a stove/barbeque in the yard and have meals outside on a roofed terrace. The place is well looked after by the ever-smiling Galina the hostess and her DIY-spirited husband Sergey. Their son Andrey speaks English and arranges tours around the area. There is a shop adjacent to the household run by the family with a clever selection of essentials from pijamas to Cadbury chocs!
Dauria offers three types of accommodation to cater for any budget:
- HOSTEL:
Typical Siberian log cabin with 3 simpler but nice clean rooms (three beds in each room). Kitchen for self-catering, sunny and spacious dining-room. Clean modern toilet and a sink inside the house. Shower outside in a specially built wooden cabin (summer option). Ideal for budget–minded travelers.
Price: 500 Rub/person/night.
- APARTMENTS:
Another two-storied house (where the family lives) has 2 rooms on the top floor with a separate entrance. Both rooms have double beds, one room overlooking the Lake. Warm-felt wooden interior, comfy beds, modern toilet and shower cabin on the floor, a cozy living-room/kitchen with cooking facilities (common for the two rooms).
Price: 1500Rub/room/night
- IMPROVED APARTMENTS:
Comfortable newly built double rooms on a first floor - all rooms overlooking the Lake. Shower cabin (really hot water!) and toilet in each room. Kettle, fridge, heater, TV, carpeted floor, comfy beds. Interior is well-thought out and spotless.
